Baby Room

The baby room is situated on the first floor of our nursery. The room is cosy but bright and caters for a maximum of 9 babies.

The babies are supervised provided constant supervision wether they are playing or sleeping. You can rest assured that your baby is receiving our undivided attention when you leave them with us.

Activities are provided throughout the day to stimulate and develop all of their senses. Each baby has their own daily diary in which staff record what they have done throughout the day.

We also keep a photographic and video record of activities your child participates in throughout the week, these are put into a personal section of Seesaw which is updated daily by staff. You are then given personal access to your child's account and can login to view the pictures and videos that are uploaded.

We try to make your baby’s transition to nursery as smooth and trouble free as possible. We ask all new parents to spend time settling their baby in with us and these times can be arranged before your babies first day. This is used to introduce you and your baby to our staff and we also get to learn your baby’s routine which ensures that your first day away from your baby runs as smoothly as possible.

All the rooms have telephones in so you can telephone at any time to check on your childs progress, or login to your personal account to see photos, videos daily diary.

Pre-School Room

Toddler Room

The toddler room offers seasonal places and caters for a maximum of 8 toddlers. Free 15 hour spaces(term time only) are also offered for 2 year olds.

We aim to teach the toddlers various everyday skills such as learning to share, taking turns with other children and interacting with their peers.

We encourage their social skills and self help skills. These include washing hands, sitting together for mealtimes, using a spoon and later a knife and fork, drinking from a cup, using please and thank-you as well as potty training when appropriate.

Similar to the baby room each child has their own daily diary where their key worker records the routine they have followed throughout the day and parents are encouraged to use this to discuss the day with their child. The personal Seesaw journal is also continued in the toddler room.

Children generally potty train in this age group and their social skills develop rapidly along with their language skills. We provide plenty of free play but with more activities being introduced in the form of art and craft, sand and water.

The children enjoy freshly prepared meals, prepared on our premises daily by our cook and we try to introduce a variety of foods including fresh fruit, vegetables and milk, daily to stimulate the children’s taste buds.

The pre-school room caters for a maximum of 16 children. Free spaces 15 hour and 30hr spaces are also offered for 3 and 4 year olds.

This period of life is really important both in its own right but also in preparing children for later learning. From the age's of three to five, children grow, and learn rapidly.

They also explore their confidence and build on what they already know. A well-planned play  environment is central to children’s learning and makes learning  both challenging and fun.

Staff ensure that every child benefits from all of the activities, whether they attend full or part time. The day is planned around the child, with the child  ensuring that all activities remain fun.

Children at this age are generally ready for pre-school activities and these are offered inline with government and OFSTED guidelines, both bodies formally inspect our planning and performance to ensure that we are constantly achieving the requirements to qualify for early years funding. This enables parents to benefit by receiving funding from the government towards their nursery fees.

The 15 hours funding (38 weeks) is automatically credited to you once your child reaches the age for which funding is awarded. We also offer 30hrs free funding for those who qualify. Both are also available spread over 51 weeks

We feel it is important that your child is fully prepared for school, and that the transition from nursery to school is an easy one. Our aim is for the children to be able to know and recognise shapes, colours, numbers and letters by the time they leave us to go to school. Some of the children will be able to recognise and write their names as well as some of the other children’s names.
